Georgian Era 汉诺威王朝 1714 年，安妮女王 (Queen Anne) 驾崩，她是斯图亚特王朝的最后一位君主。由于她没有子嗣存活下来，所以根据 1701 年的《王位继承法》，安妮女王来自德国的近亲，汉诺威家族的乔治成为合法继承人，登基为汉诺威王朝 (House of Hanover) 的第一位国王，乔治一世 (George I) ，并结束了斯图亚特王朝。汉诺威王朝也被称为乔治王时代 (Georgian Britain) ，因为前四位国王都名叫乔治。 George seated on the throne in the robes of the Order of the Garter.
